Justin Peters on Lakeland Revival

June 10, 2008

2 Timothy 4:3 -For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having ithcing ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,

Justin Peters joins Mike to discuss his personal experience of attending the so-called Lakeland Revival led by Todd Bentley. Justin is considered by many to be an authority on the Word of Faith movement and offers his expert perspective on the error of Bentley and the Revival meetings, declaring Bentley a false prophet. Also, on-site at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, Justin offers us an update on the conference and what are expected to be the big topics there this year.

Promoting ourselves or Jesus?

March 31, 2008

Listen to almost any Christian television or radio broadcast and you will see or hear a lot of emphasis on the person; claims such as “So-and-so’s dynamic preaching….Brother So-and-so led the church to the greatest period of growth in history” are common. But are we supposed to promote ourselves in such a manner, especially when the Apostle Paul said he counted all of his accomplishments and abilities as “loss”.  On this program Mike examines that we are not called to puff ourselves, but we are called to die to ourselves.

Mike shares audio clips and quotes from the outrageous to the edifying, including statements by Paula White and Larry Huch on what they claim is the 7 places Christ bled and how Jesus was not, is not, the only begotten Son of God; 2 false prophets with their tricks of gold glitter; how to prosper by eating your “miracle manna; and finally words of truth from James White and Jim Renihan on what we can learn from Church history.
